2 letter words and their definitions, part 1

There are NO 2-letter words beginning with V or C.

The As are easy to remember, I admit.

AA - a rough type of lava. (The opposite of that is PAHOEHOE, "smooth, billowy lava). Both Hawaiian words.

AB - an abominal muscle

AD - an advertisement

AE - one (not sure how you'd ever use this in a sentence, but it's a Scots word.)

AH - aah.

AI - a 3-toed sloth in the forests of Venezuela, Guianas and northern Brazil

AL - an East Indian mulberry tree

AM - 1st person singular

AN - indefinate article

AR - the letter R

AS - to the same degree

AT - in the position of

AW - used to express protest, disgust or disbelief.

AX - cutting tool

AY - aye (yes, as in "Aye, Aye, sir)
